Tonight, as Mary Joyce and I were going through her bedtime routine, I was rocking her and singing. To be honest, my mind had wandered a bit, when she said, "Mama, I got ow." At that point, she held up her finger. Like a good mama whose little girl has an owie, I kissed the finger she was holding up. Then, the complete thought...
"Mama, I got booger out myself."
Can you say "yuck"?!?!
Thankfully, I managed to kiss a different part of her finger, so all's well that ends well.

Okay, between my friends Kim, Tana, and Angie, I finally was persuaded to start a Facebook page. I'm still learning my way around, but it really is fun. I've found all kinds of people from college that I had lost touch with, for one thing. :-) If you have Facebook and want to be Facebook friends, let me know. :-)

Steps!!!
Just a quick post to say that Miss Katherine took 4 unassisted steps last night for the very first time. :-) Of course, we were picking the girls up from the babysitters' house at the time, so there was no camera present, and in typical little kid fashion, she has not duplicated the event today. It won't be long, though, until she is all over the place, walking, not crawling!

Funny Photos from Our House
When I loaded pictures into my computer, I found a good number of funny pics of the girls that I wanted to share. I hope these bring a smile or a laugh for you today. :-)
The other day, I cleared out the "goodie" bag that I got at the ob-gyn's office at my first appointment. I was getting ready to toss the gigantic white paper bag, when Mary Joyce laid claim to it. Next thing I know, this is what I see...

What's wrong with this picture? Look carefully...

Mary Joyce modeling her daddy's shirt Sunday night after church.

Here is Mary Joyce's new funny face. She scrunches her face up--looks like she just ate something really sour. She thinks she is hilarious when she does this.

The girls were playing quietly--too quietly-- in their room the other day. When I got in there, I found every board book pulled off the shelf and piled on Katherine. Thankfully, Katherine thought this was lots of fun! (At this point, Mary Joyce has started cleaning up her big mess.)

Mary Joyce is very into standing on her head lately. Can we say "Scare Mama to death?"

Not so much a funny, but Katherine has become quite adept at the sippy cup. Maybe she won't be using bottles forever, after all. :-) She also can say, "juice!"

Katherine Wants You!

On another not funny note, Katherine finally has enough hair to pull it up out of her eyes. Mary Joyce's face lends itself to bangs, but Katherine's really doesn't, so I'm glad to finally be able to do this. The bow made it until after lunch yesterday and just before lunch today--not bad for the first two attempts.

And just for sweetness sake, here is a shot of Chet and the girls while he was home for lunch today.

All is Well!
Just wanted to follow up on my repeat bloodwork. Everything came back normal this time! Thank you, God! Now I can quit worrying about it. :-)

Beauty of God's Creation
This was the sight from in front of our house this evening, looking toward the ocean. Pretty amazing, isn't it?
Link to Blog
I think since they have kept their blog public, and we know that they want as many prayers as possible right now, that it will be okay if I post the link to the blog of the family in China with the sick baby. (I was going to add this to the last post, but Blogger is being contrary this morning.) Anyway, here is the link:

Please Pray
There is a family in China right now to adopt their daughter, and when they arrived, they found their child extremely ill and in the hospital. They are trying everything possible to get their little girl to better medical care. This is a very sad, heartbreaking story. Prayer is certainly needed for the entire family.
Pictures of our Sweethearts
I made a few pictures of the girls before church on Sunday and wanted to share.
Since Saturday was her Gotcha Day anniversary, we let Mary Joyce wear her "China dress" to church. I love the way this picture came out, but she looks so grown up!

Here is our Katherine girl:

And making his/her blog debut is Baby #3. (Chet was finally able to get our scanner to work.) Anyway, this ultrasound was earlier than Katherine's first one, so you really can't tell much, but for what it's worth, here's the picture:

Do-Over
I got a call yesterday afternoon that my doctor wants me to re-do some of my bloodwork and add a couple of extra tests. I didn't get a really clear answer from the nurse about what the concerns were other than my white count was low, as was something else that I don't remember the name of right now, but it is screened on the CBC. The white count could be maybe that I've picked up strep from the girls--I've started on antibiotics for that, but all-in-all, this is disconcerting to me. I'm going to pick up the orders tomorrow morning and get this show on the road. Pray that it is nothing or something very minor.
Updated to Add: I went and had the bloodwork redone this morning. Hopefully, it won't take too long to get the results back. I don't like waiting...
