An Afternoon at the Pool

Last week we finally had the chance to take the girls to a swimming pool. They did pretty well for Katherine's first trip and Mary Joyce's second. Mary Joyce wasn't quite as adventurous as we expected, but she was doing okay by the end. Katherine was not happy with the situation at all. She preferred to sit on the side and watch. Right at the end, I showed her how to splash in the water while she was sitting on the side of the pool, and she decided that was pretty fun, and as we were getting ready to leave, she finally decided to try putting her feet in. Maybe next time, she'll be more willing to get in the pool. It was a fun afternoon, though. (Malcom slept through the whole thing.)

Our Georgia Trip--3 Slideshows

We recently returned from our trip to Georgia to visit with Chet's mom, and I've finally posted pictures. You will find the slideshows in the next 3 posts. They are a little out of order, as I was going to combine 2 of them, but Photobucket wouldn't let me include that many pictures in one slideshow. From top to bottom, the first one is from Friday at the Blue Willow Inn. We met my parents and my sister there for lunch, and it was nice to be able to see them, even if it was just for a little while. The second slideshow is all of the general pictures from the trip, and the third is from the 4th of July family get-together. Enjoy!

Pretty Flowers

Chet's mom has some beautiful flowers in her yard, and I had a little fun playing with the camera while we were there...

Malcom at 2 Months

I had intended to do this post awhile back, but between VBS and vacation it never happened... Better late than never, I suppose...

Malcom turned 2 months old on June 21. He is really growing fast. At his 2 month check-up, he weighed in at 10 pounds, 7.5 ounces. That is only in the 25th percentile for weight, but he is long and lanky--his length was in the 90th percentile. This has been pretty consistent with him so far, though. He is still a good baby, too...so very sweet. He is much more alert now. As a newborn, he was one who tended to sleep almost all the time.

Hopefully his 3 month update will be a little more timely, but for now, enjoy the pictures...

VBS 2009

Now that VBS is over and we are home from our vacation, hopefully I can get back to updating this blog more frequently. Anyway, here is the VBS update, and I'll post vacation pictures later (hopefully tomorrow, but I make no promises on that one...)

VBS went well this year. We had 66 kids enrolled, up from 27 last summer. Mary Joyce was able to participate in a regular class for the first time this year and really enjoyed herself. Here are a few pictures from the week...

At Recreation--Love the Shades--They made the beaded sunglasses straps in the craft room that day, so all of the kids had sunglasses.

On the Road

We are headed to Georgia this morning. I am so behind on updating the blog. I will try to play catch-up when we get back home, but for now, we're leaving this morning and will be back in a week. Looking forward to a relaxing visit with family and friends. :-)

It's VBS Week!

This morning is the first day of VBS 2009 at our church, which explains my lack of blog posts recently. We have had tremendous response to our pre-enrollment, and this looks to be an amazing week. Mary Joyce will be attending in the preschool class for the first time this year. I'm director, Chet is worship leader/photographer/videographer/and, of course, Pastor, and Katherine and Malcom will be in the nursery. If you think about it, please pray for our VBS, our workers, and the children and youth who will be attending this week.

Back to regularly scheduled blogging as soon as possible...
