VBS 2011

Here are a few pictures from VBS week...

We had worship, and on Friday, Katherine got to be our tiniest Bible bearer...

All of the kids loved the music...

The teachers did an amazing jobs in their classrooms...

They had fun crafts...

And yummy snacks...

And Malcom got to hang out and have fun in the nursery...

It's hard to believe he will be old enough to be in a big-kid class next summer...

A Few Random Pictures

The girls were dressed for Luau Day at preschool, and Malcom just wanted his picture made. :-)

One morning before school, all 3 decided they needed to wear sunglasses...

Last Day of School (Katherine really wasn't in picture-taking mode.)

End of School Year Program

These are photos from the end of school program at the preschool both girls attended. Mary Joyce graduated from pre-K, and Katherine finished 3 year old preschool. Katherine will be in pre-K at the same school this fall, while Mary Joyce is moving into the world of public school kindergarten.

Fort Matanzas

My parents were in town for Memorial Day weekend, and we were able to go and visit Ft. Matanzas. If you are ever in the St. Augustine area, this is well worth your time. (And, yes, I am still way behind on this blog...working on it, though.)

Swimming Lessons

A Visit from Luna

Luna is the class "pet" from Mary Joyce's preschool class. Every child got to bring Luna home for awhile and then with help they got to put pictures in Luna's book and tell her story. This was back in May. Because our last name is late in the alphabet, Mary Joyce was one of the last to bring her home.

Here is Luna after her arrival. She had to borrow MJ's shades so she could live up to her "star" status. As you can see, Luna even travels with her own bed. (I have to point out that another student's grandmother made brand new bedding for Luna's bed recently. I'm impressed. I am not sewing-inclined.)

Soon after that, Luna was guest of honor at a tea party...

And here is Luna wondering if frogs can come to Vacation Bible School this summer...

And here is MJ with a Luna hat...

We even managed to find a suitable night shirt for Luna, although some of our neighbors may disagree since we live in Gator Country...

Luna went to Missions Class at church on Wednesday...

She played outside...

She was going with MJ and K to their first swimming lesson of the year, but the lesson was canceled. That was a real bummer...

Luna went to the sitters' house while Mama and Daddy went on a much needed date night...

She went to lunch with us and our friends. (I think she likes chips and salsa mixed with cheese dip.)...

And she was with us when we brought home our "new to us" sandbox...

And, finally, Luna went to church with us this morning, all dressed up to match MJ and K...

Where she sang hymns (note that MJ is holding her up where she can read the powerpoint on the screen)...

And participated in the Children's Sermon...

Endeavor Launch (May 2011)

One of the coolest things about living where we do is that we can watch NASA launches from our front yard. This was the final launch of Endeavor back in May. The girls were at school at the time, but Mary Joyce's class got to watch from the playground.

Malcom's Marker Incident

Doesn't he look pitiful?

Mother's Day Weekend

I'm going to try to hit some highlights and get this blog caught up before we leave for vacation, so I'm starting with Mother's Day...

Here are the girls and me at the Mother's Day Tea at their preschool...

The Saturday before Mother's Day was a fun day. We went out to lunch, and then went to the beach for awhile. Malcom was tired and unhappy, so we didn't stay long...

Later in the evening, we went to a favorite local park with a picnic supper...

I'm pretty sure Malcom spent more time pointing at boats than actually eating...

It was a very happy Mother's Day!

Easter Dresses

Here are the girls in their Easter dresses before church this morning. Since Malcom was sick, he didn't wear his Easter clothes today. Hopefully he can wear his outfit next week. For now, here are our pretty Easter girls...
